“What’s with all the uterus stuff?” -A question I’m often asked

“What’s with all the uterus stuff?” -A question I’m often asked

If you’ve ever been a tattoo client of mine, or you’ve stumbled upon my booth at an expo, you may have asked me this 😅 It’s a common question, when my space is adorned with all kinds of womb art.

Honestly I can’t get asked this enough. It opens up the conversation where I can teach, inform, and blow minds with menstrual knowledge. The interesting part about this is, it’s usually men doing the asking. And it’s extremely rare that it carries an undertone of shame or disgust. Rather, curiosity and a desire to understand their partner or other loved ones. With women, I am often met with shock and rage at all the knowledge they were missing, things that are a vital tool to usher them through life.

I began this journey in 2020, when I found the book Code Red by Lisa Lister. It sparked a passion in me to learn more for myself, and as I kept sharing with others, it was catching like fire. Next thing I know, I’ve self published a beautiful and detailed charting wall calendar and a fully detailed charting journal. In addition to that I kept getting ideas for these irresistible creative pursuits like womb shaped candleholders and keychains, tiny hand carved goddesses and hand painted menstrual medicine gift boxes.

One of the most valuable things I’ve learned, is how to understand and follow my inner compass. It’s built in, it’s powerful, and there were secrets unlocked that never should have been secret in the first place. Our society has always placed so much shame speaking about these issues and therefore knowledge isn’t being handed down like it could be. I’m trying to help break the stigma and educate everyone who wants this information. My primary goal when teaching a class is to help my students see the patterns in their cycle-even post menopause- that can help them make changes in their life where they can go with the flow instead of fighting the tide. Going against our cyclical nature can cause more burn out and unhappiness, in a world where we all yearn for productivity and joy.

so yeah, go ahead and ask me, “What’s with all the uterus stuff?” Because I would LOVE to tell you. And if you’re looking for extra content and educational tidbits, please check out my Instagram, @the_mystical_womb or Facebook page The Mystical Womb
